PARTS ADVISOR APPRENTICESHIP

Our Northampton dealership is seeking an ambitious person who is keen to develop a long term career in the automotive industry within Parts specialising in, although not limited to, Fiat, Alfa and Jeep brands
THE ROLE
Our Apprenticeship Programme is geared toward training you to become a qualified Vehicle Parts Advisor and to provide our customers a high quality, professional service. You will be responsible for ordering, selling and managing stock control on a wide range of vehicle parts and accessories. Duties will include:
Taking orders from customers both face to face and over the phone
Maintaining an ordered stock room and finding parts from stock
Raising invoices for parts sold
Liaising with other members of staff
Working alongside on-site Service Technicians to ensure they have the parts needed to complete their daily work
YOUR DEVELOPMENT
We are looking for a person who will take ownership of their development, work hard to achieve their potential and grow with an ambitious employer. The Programme will typically last between 12 and 24 months and you will achieve a nationally recognised qualification.
As part of the training you will attend week-long block training at a specialist training centre complemented by a combination of coaching by specialist trainers and our Parts team, Virtual Classroom sessions and E-Learning modules.
SKILLS & PERSONAL QUALITIES
We’re not looking for the finished article; rather some who is ambitious and can demonstrate a willingness to learn and is excited by the prospect of working with fantastic brands and really engage in the apprentice program. We also look for you to possess problem-solving abilities, an enthusiasm for our industry and role and team working.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Age: 16+
Prior Attainment: GCSE (or equivalent) grade A*-C or 9-4 in Maths and English. Predicated grades are accepted.
‘Equivalent’ grades include:
OCR Nationals
BTEC first diplomas and certificates
Key Skills Level 2
NVQs
Functional Skills Level 2
APPLICATION PROCESS
Your application will be assessed by our recruitment team against the entry requirements for the role. If you are successful in your application you will be invited to participate in a short telephone interview. Candidates will be shortlisted again and asked to complete a range of web-based assessments appropriate to the role.
Finally, candidates will be invited for a face-to-face interview at our Northampton dealership. This may extend to a second interview and in some cases a working trial.
REMUNERATION
The Current National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices is £4.81 per hour. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. Current minimum wage rates are £6.83 an hour for 18-20 year olds, £9.18 for anyone aged 21 to 22 years old, and £9.50 for 23 and over.

Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship
The role will be for 5 days a week/40 hours.
