For those seeking greater electric capability without going fully electric, the new Plug-in Hybrid combines a 150hp turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with a 125hp electric motor powering the front wheels. Depending on road conditions and the selected mode, the two power sources can operate independently or together. Electric mode enables whisper-quiet, zero-emission driving perfect for city commutes and congestion-charge zones, while Hybrid mode smartly alternates between petrol and electric power, or blends both, for optimal performance and efficiency. Working in unison, the system delivers a combined 195hp, while the new 21kWh battery (almost double the previous generation’s capacity) provides up to 53 miles of electric-only range (WLTP Combined). With the standard 7.4kW onboard charger, a full recharge takes just 2 hours 55 minutes using a 7.4kW AC wallbox.
For drivers ready to embrace full electric, the C5 Aircross is available in two versions: the Electric Comfort Range, featuring a 73kWh battery and a 210hp motor offering up to 322 miles (WLTP) of driving, and the Electric Long Range, equipped with a 97kWh battery and a 230hp motor capable of up to 421 miles (WLTP Combined), making it a standout option for long-distance confidence and everyday convenience.
